✍️ Fan Takes

F1 Fan Takes

One opinion. One reason. Under sixty words. That is a take — and this page is where young fans get theirs onto the site.

What a take is

A take is not a race report. Nobody needs you to say who won — the result is two clicks away. A take is what you think about it and why you think it. You watched the race. Say the thing only you would say.

Three that work
"Antonelli leads because Mercedes built the best car. Put anyone in it and it still leads. Prove me wrong."
"Verstappen's season is the car, not the driver. Same helmet, different problem."
"Six sprint weekends is two too many. Saturday gets better, Sunday gets worse."

The rules

  1. One opinion per take. Two opinions is two takes.
  2. Give the reason. "Ferrari are bad" is not a take. "Ferrari are bad on cold tyres and it costs them every wet start" is.
  3. Sixty words maximum. If it needs more, it is an article, not a take.
  4. Argue with the driving, never with the person. No insults, no pile-ons, no comments about anyone's family.
  5. Own it. A featured take carries your username and your country. Nothing else about you is ever shown.

You do not pick a team because they are winning. You pick one, and then you live with whatever the season does to you. That is the whole point. A hub full of people who all support the leader would have nothing to argue about.

How you get featured

Step 1
Register
Pick a username at /join. That username is the name a take gets published under, so choose one you would be happy to see on the page.
Step 2
Watch and think
Race weekend happens. Write your sixty words while it is still fresh — the best takes are the ones written on Sunday night, not on Thursday.
Step 3
Takes get collected
Right now takes are gathered and chosen by hand, and featured on this page as the hub grows. Read the box below — it says exactly what does and does not exist yet.

The straight answer

There is no take-submission form on this site yet. Nothing on this page sends a message anywhere. Takes are being collected and featured by hand while the hub grows, and when a real submission form exists it will be built right here on this page.

The only form on the site that takes your details is the register form at /join. It is set up as a Netlify form, so the page hands what you type to Netlify's own form handler — there is no database and no login behind it. It captures a username, an age, a country, an email address, the sports you follow and a favourite team or driver. There is no box for a message, so registering is not the same as sending a take. It puts your username on the list.

If you are under 16 the register form asks for a parent or guardian's permission first. That is not a formality — tick it only if it is true.
